Visitors

Thank you for exploring St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset. We welcome your presence in Sunday worship, as both visitors and potential members. Feel free to ask any questions by contacting our Office Manager or Pastor, or by visiting with the ushers and greeters at each service.

Communion: Holy Communion, with both wine and grape juice in common or individual cups, is celebrated at all worship services. All baptized are welcome at the Lord’s table. Children may come with their parents for a blessing or may receive the sacrament at the parents’ discretion.

Nursery: We have a nursery that is open for young children to play in at any time. You are welcome to take children there during the service if you like, or they are also welcome in the sanctuary at all times.

Offering: As with most congregations, we collect an offering during worship services. While you are welcome to put cash or checks in the offering plate, we also have some members and visitors who prefer to give by electronic transfer. If you are interested, you can click here to visit our page for setting up online donations (as a one-time gift or recurring).

Also, you may notice during the service that our children deposit quarters in the “quarter tube” near the front of the church. This was an idea started by one of our members many years ago, and the quarters are spent by our high school youth on mission and outreach activities.

Membership: If you are interested in becoming a member, simply make your desire known to the Office Manager or Pastor. If you are currently a member of another church, you may request a transfer of your membership records to our office at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1120 N. 8th Ave., Winterset, IA 50273.
