Devotions from God Pause: “I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” Writing to Timothy, Paul wants this young minister to understand what distinguishes ministry work. He does not use his many examples of success spreading the gospel message, but points to the fact that he remained faithful, resisting temptation and evil. Often in our lives, we must fight the good fight. That is to resist temptations of which there are many: to enjoy our Sunday morning coffee on the deck rather than attend church; to allow children complaining about having to sit through confirmation to skip; even to say we’ve done our turn teaching Sunday school, now it’s someone else’s turn, when there is a need and no one else to do it. To finish the race does not include a list of activities that must be done or completed. Rather, like Paul, our goal is to faithfully live out the purpose God has given us in this world until he calls us home. Join us for Meeting on Monday!  The coffee pot will be on. Tea bags and hot chocolate packets also available. No strings attached – just a chance to visit with others in the comfort of the high school and junior high rooms at St. Paul’s. at 9:00 am on Monday mornings. Sunday Bible Study: Bible Study will meet at 11:00 a.m. following morning worship in the front most classroom near the church office. During the class, we invite questions, comments, and connections, as we expand upon the readings from the worship service. |
Lutheran World Relief Personal Care Kits by Sunday, November 9th. Confirmation youth are collecting items for Lutheran World Relief. Each personal care kits will include
One bath-size towel
Two bath-size bars of soap
One adult-size toothbrush
One sturdy comb
One metal nail clippers
Please donate items by November 9th. There is a large tote container at the church for your items. Please see the Ushers table for additional information.
Holiday Hop. Saturday, November 22. Crafters & Bakers!! Holiday Hop is coming Saturday, November 22nd from 8:30am – 1:30pm. We will welcome all crafts and baked goods again. We also will feature the gently used room again. Be thinking of cleaning out your unused Christmas decorations that you would like to get rid of! Operation Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse provides humanitarian aid and benefits children across the world. Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is one of their efforts. Materials are available in the fellowship hall for all of you who would like to participate. Pick up a box and brochures about what can go in the box. Final steps include labeling the box and binding with a strong rubber band. You may also include a $10 donation for shipping and other costs. If you choose to do so, put your check (no cash) made out to Samaritan’s Purse in an envelope and place it on top in the box. Drop off your box to New Bridge Church Nov 17, 20, 21 4:30-6:30; Nov 18 & 19 12:00-2:00; Nov 22 10:00-2:00; Nov 23 1:00-3:00. Questions may be directed to Ann Bartelt.
