Outdoor work date to get the flower beds read to get the flower gardens ready for Easter and Spring. . We will be cutting plants back, removing old vegetation, putting down Preen and fertilizer and applying fresh mulch. All hands are welcome. God spoke the cosmos into being. God’s covenant sustained the ancient Israelites in the wilderness. God’s word became flesh and dwelt among us. God’s word sustains the weary. As Christians, we have a profound duty to declare God’s promises of hope and new life to the world. On some days, the path to deliver our message is clear; on other days we feel blocked by those who surround us with insult and spitting. On all days, God is with us, training our tongues, waking our ears, standing with us. We remember the words of St. Patrick: “Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.” Join us for Monday morning Coffee Fellowship: The coffee pot will be on. Tea bags and hot chocolate packets are also available. No strings attached-just a chance to visit others in the comfort of the high school and junior high rooms at St. Paul’s at 9:00 am on Monday mornings. If Winterset schools are cancelled or delayed, there will be no coffee. Sunday Bible Study: Bible Study will meet at 11:00 a.m. following morning worship in the front most classroom near the church office. During the class, we invite questions, comments, and connections, as we expand upon the readings from the worship service. |
Meals From the Heartland: A huge thank you to all of you that participated in the March 11th Meals From the Heartland packaging event. Whether you prepared food, set up tables, put together boxes, cleaned up or helped with the packaging, you were part of an amazing service event! We had over 80 volunteers, and talk about making a difference….wow! Because of your generous service, we were able to package 29,808 meals for hungry children here in Iowa, throughout the United States and around the world. Our event alone was enough to feed over 70 children for a year! You can rest assured that children that would have gone hungry can now have a warm meal. A special thank you to the Trust Fund Committee for sponsoring this event, and allowing us to hold this incredible event at St. Paul.

Dinner with Friends. Each month, on the second Thursday, a host from St Paul Lutheran Church will choose a restaurant. The host will make the group reservation. All are welcome. Community Garden – The Lutheran side of the Community Garden still has some space available for new gardeners. If you want to have a small or medium sized space to grow some of your own food or if you
want to sponsor an area to grow vegetables to share with others please give Rich Thompson a TEXT at 515-468-0383. Areas are easily accessible. We provide a prepared space and free water and mulch.

Severe Weather. Our church follows the school closings. If Winterset schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather, there will be NO church activities. For weekend services, school breaks and for general purposes, please use your own judgement.
Worship Service Helpers/Volunteers Needed! Serving as a worship leader and helper is an excellent way to become better acquainted with our congregation.
