It was Abraham’s faith, Paul argues passionately, that saved him, not his tribal identity or following of the law, however good that was. Paul believed that all he had learned in his training in Jerusalem with Gamaliel ended in Christ. He was the one who was promised from the beginning. And it was the resurrection that proved Jesus was the Messiah. We are not Christians because our parents or grandparents were. Each of us must encounter God’s promises to us. When we do we become one with Christ and all who believe in him. A new family, and life! What joy! Join us for Monday morning Coffee Fellowship: The coffee pot will be on. Tea bags and hot chocolate packets are also available. No strings attached-just a chance to visit others in the comfort of the high school and junior high rooms at St. Paul’s at 9:00 am on Monday mornings. If Winterset schools are cancelled or delayed, there will be no coffee. Sunday Bible Study: Bible Study will meet at 11:00 a.m. following morning worship in the front most classroom near the church office. During the class, we invite questions, comments, and connections, as we expand upon the readings from the worship service. |

Daylight Savings Time. Reminder to turn your clocks ahead an hour on Sunday, March 8th. Church will start at 9:30am according to daylight savings time.
Meals From the Heartland – Volunteers Needed!! On March 11th, St. Paul is again hosting Meals From the Heartland to align with Lent. We plan to package more than 20,000 meals from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. While this is a youth-focused event, we need a lot of volunteers to make it happen. If you, a family member and/or friend would like to assist in feeding hungry children around the globe, please reach out to Jacque Mohs at 515-468-1899 or the church office at office@stpaullutheranchurh.net. Packaging is open for anyone who is at least 8 years old. We need to have volunteers signed up in advance, so we’re trying to make sure we’re aware of everyone that wants to participate. Thank you!
Community Garden – The Lutheran side of the Community Garden still has some space available for new gardeners. If you want to have a small or medium sized space to grow some of your own food or if you
want to sponsor an area to grow vegetables to share with others please give Rich Thompson a TEXT at 515-468-0383. Areas are easily accessible. We provide a prepared space and free water and mulch.
Dinner with Friends. Each month, on the second Thursday, a host from St Paul Lutheran Church will choose a restaurant. The host will make the group reservation. All are welcome. If you are interested in joining this months dinner with friends, please contact Janelle (Ken) at 712-358-3046 to RSVP for March 12th. Restaurant of choice: Wilson Orchard in Cumming, IA. at 6:00pm. We will meet at the church parking lot at 5:15pm for those who would like to carpool.
The following month dinner with friends will be April 9th. Information to follow as it gets closer.
Choir. Choir practices on Wednesdays, September-May at 7:10pm- 8:15pm. All are welcome.
Severe Weather. As the winter season is upon us, our church follows the school closings. If Winterset schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather, there will be NO church activities. For weekend services and for general purposes, please use your own judgement.
