This Sunday we will be celebrating new members who have joined in the last year. Celebration Reception for New Members. The Flock ministry team would like to invite the new members, their families and the congregation to join in with fellowship after the service for a celebration reception for all in the St. Paul family! Devotions from God Pause: The road seemed to lead to nowhere as our taxi wound through the pastures and rolling hills of southwestern Scotland. Was the brochure describing Portpatrick correct? Wasn’t it supposed to border the sea? Then, just as we were doubting the driver, the brochure, and our navigational wits, we crested a hill and, “voilà!” We plunged into the most beautiful vista—the North Sea, an ancient castle, a quaint village. It was all that we had hoped for. To be plunged into a living hope via the waters of baptism is to have the utmost confidence in a benevolent and forgiving God. The faith of the early persecuted believers could not have materialized without being birthed by God. Faith is not something we create or sustain. In faith, we are in the midst of a gift—a graceful power casting a vision before us, opening up vistas for mission and the salvation of souls. Join us for Monday morning Coffee Fellowship: The coffee pot will be on. Tea bags and hot chocolate packets are also available. No strings attached-just a chance to visit others in the comfort of the high school and junior high rooms at St. Paul’s at 9:00 am on Monday mornings. If Winterset schools are cancelled or delayed, there will be no coffee. For school breaks and for general purposes, please use your own judgement. Sunday Bible Study: Bible Study will meet at 11:00 a.m. following morning worship in the front most classroom near the church office. During the class, we invite questions, comments, and connections, as we expand upon the readings from the worship service. |
