Halloween, Christmas Boxes, Parents’ Night Out!

We are having so much fun at St. Paul already this fall!   The 2nd-6th graders continue to practice for the Dec. 11 Christmas Program during both services on Wednesday nights. These kids will resume regular God Squad activities following the program. This year’s program will again take place during both services on the 11th. I know it’s a long morning for the kids, so I will definitely have snacks and activities to keep the kids entertained between services on program day.  The Pre-K through first grade kids will begin practice during the regularly scheduled Sunday School music portion at 9:30 starting in November (they will practice for 15 minutes and then return to regular Sunday School class).

The God Squad Halloween party is this Wednesday from 5:15 to 6:30.  We will start with a quick pizza dinner and I’ll have a few activities, photo booth and games set up for the kiddos throughout the church.  Each child will get to take a decorated pumpkin home from this event.  Looking forward to it!   No costumes are necessary as I’ll have a few silly masks (nothing scary) set up in the photo booth for costume dress up/fun!  If you have a St. Paul child who wants to attend the party, but does not already attend God Squad please let me (Courtney) know ASAP so I can plan for that child.  Also, if you’re willing to donate candy for this event, please leave it in the church kitchen this Sunday if possible.

The God Squad students will pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child on Nov. 9.  After dinner, we will pair the younger kids with the older kids to pack boxes.  Last year we had 103 boxes!!  We would like to include a photo of each child with their box so I’m working on taking those photos as I can when I see your kiddos at church.  An information sheet will be sent home with your child this week and boxes are already currently in the narthex for collection items.

Also, please save the date for our second St. Paul Parents’ Night Out on Dec. 3 from 5-8 p.m.  Just like last time, the charge is only $5 per child and we will have dinner, crafts, games, dancing and a movie in the sanctuary to keep your kids busy!  Take some time to do some Christmas shopping or just RELAX.  This was such a fun event in May and I look forward to doing it again.  A sign up will be posted soon!

Thank you so much for entrusting us with your children as they grow in their faith. I can’t say enough good things about how wonderful these kids are!
